As she enters her fortysixth month on
Planet Earth, our Moon Lady participates in the kids' games organized
as part of an outdoor party in her street (row above, middle). She knocks
down cans with a ball (row above, left) and hits a mouse with a stick
(row above, right). That is, she might have hit it if she had not had
her eyes closed! Fortunately, her neighbor Marieke gives Luna a helping
hand. Rolling giant dice (top left) allows her to move forward on the
street board game (bottom left). Luna's face shows how much she enjoys
the kids' games (top right). Not! She enjoys it much more to be pushed
on the tricycle (bottom right).

When her brother gets his very first haircut, mom
figures Luna's hair could use a little trimming as well. Our young lady
sits quietly through the haircutting session (row above, left and right).
The fact that she gets distracted by a Kabouter Plop video might have
something to do with this (left and right). The contrast between her
hair and that of her brother is striking (row above, middle). |

When Esther-Mirjam has a reunion with the women from
her birthing class, Luna gets to play with the daughters of Cindy and
Irene, Sarah and Iris (row below, left and right). The three have lots
of fun running around the Chimpie Champ indoor playground. Aafke and
Lior also come along, giving them a good excuse to eat french fries
and to drink lemonade (row below, middle). The admission, food, and
drinks are free that day because everyone ends up participating in a
short fire drill. Esther-Mirjam has a strong emotional response to the
evacuation practice, with her motherly instinct wanting to make sure
that nothing bad happens to her two precious children. |

Long overdue, Luna finally gets to sleep in a big
bed (left). Luna loves princesses and Esther-Mirjam hates pink. Mom
manages to satisfy them both with the help of Wildkidzz.com! Our little
princess looks so tiny in her big bed. She also has a princess desk,
princess chair, and princess closet. But where is her prince? |

Opa Ben (row above, left) and Oma Alie (row above,
right) treat Luna to a day at "Het Land van Jan Klaassen."
They also treat her to ice cream that makes her mouth turn blue (row
above, middle). In turn, Luna treats them to a few funny pictures (left
and right). |

In a poll conducted by Animal Planet, the tiger was
voted the world's favorite animal, narrowly beating man's best friend,
the dog. The tiger is also Luna's favorite animal when it comes to having
her face painted (row below). Better watch out for this fierce predator! |

Luna is now big enough to ride her own motorcycle
on the fair (row above, left). She also thinks she is big enough to
eat cotton candy (row above, middle), but ends up with yucky stuff all
over her face and hands (row above, right). As a good big sister, she
accompanies Lior during a boat ride (left) and a drive in the car (right). |

Luna is also big enough to help Oma Naatje make doughnuts
(row below, middle). She carefully mixes the dough (row below, left)
and covers the doughnuts with powdered sugar (row below, right). |

Luna loves the songs of K3 so much that mama takes
her to a K3 show (row below, left). Dressed in her K3 princess dress,
she patiently waits for the show to start (row below, middle). She is
lucky to have a seat close to the stage (row below, right). Secretly,
Esther-Mirjam also really likes the K3 songs, for humming them gives
her a happy feeling. On the drive back, mom tells Luna that she enjoyed
getting to spend a day alone with her daughter, upon which Luna replies
that she misses her young brother! |

When mama has to go to Hilversum to be interviewed
for a radio show, Luna gets to listen to her on Opa Tano's computer
(row above, left). When she goes outside, Luna is excited about finding
two eggs (row above, middle). And Oma Naatje takes her to the playground
in Spijk (row above, right), where Lior gives Opa Tano and his sister
a ride (left). The slide is Luna's favorite (right). |

Hip, Hip, Hurray! Only two more months to go and our little Moon Lady will turn four years old. Little does she know that her life will change dramatically then, for Dutch children go to kindergarten five days a week from age four onwards. Perhaps mom is dreading this more than her young daughter! |
