Fortyfifth Month of Luna Sent

Upon entering her fortyfifth month on Planet Earth, our Moon Lady continues to vacation at the Center Parcs resort in Zandvoort.
The resort includes a big pool where mother & daughter have lots of fun together (row above). Opa Ben and Oma Alie hang out in the hot tub with their grandchildren (left and right). However, Lior's favorite is the slide (row below). Our brave young man loves going down on his tummy and has a triumphant look when he gets up again.
The weather is nice enough for two lovely beach days. Lior is intrigued by the abundance of sand in which he can play there (right). He does take a tumble every now and then, but does not mind this at all. Such a trooper!
Lior is accompanied by his little sister (far left) and Opa Ben (middle left). It is wonderful that he is able to walk now, for crawling through the sand would have made for very messy clothes and a very dirty body.
When the kids' club organizes an outing to the petting zoo, Luna insists that mom comes along (middle right). Esther-Mirjam does not mind at all, for it gives her an opportunity to take pictures of Luna in her cute overalls (far right).
While at the petting zoo, Luna is put to work with her tiny shovel (far left). And after all the hard work, she gets to pet the animals (middle left).
Lior is still a little too small for the petting zoo outing, but watches his sister from a safe distance (middle right). At the end of the day, he is very ready for a good sleep (far right).
Tante Daan and Ome Niels also come over for a visit (row below, left). They love the toys that Luna and Lior brought along, for they allow them to build a sand castle on the beach (row below, right). Meanwhile, Oma Alie takes a picture of mom taking a picture (row below, middle).
With the help of his mom (middle right), Lior digs a big hole for his little sister (far right). Well, to be honest, Tante Daan and Ome Niels are responsible for covering Luna with sand.
When Tante Daan tries to convince Lior to come into the sea (far left), she finds that he needs no encouragement at all. Sea, here Lior comes (middle left).
When Lior discovers how cold the water is, he runs back to Oma Alie (middle right) and gets a big hug from his mom (far right). For its next vacation, the Sent clan will have to consider warmer waters, eh?
It is a good thing that the Sent clan had a very relaxing vacation, for they need to work hard after getting home to unpack all their bags (far left) and to do all the laundry (middle left).
Luna gets to spend a night and day at Opa Tano and Oma Naatje's "farm," where she rides on Ian's back (row below, right) and spends quality time with the neighbor girl, Victoria (row below, middle). Luna is thrilled to see Ian and Maurive again (row below, left) and the two donkeys share in the joy. According to Luna, the donkeys"have a lot of hungry," so need to be fed a lot of yummy apples.
With all the apple eating, there is a lot of manure that needs to be cleaned up. Opa Tano and Luna get to work right away (row below, left), but Luna decides that the wheelbarrow loaded with manure is too heavy for her (row below, middle). As a result, Opa Tano and Luna need to get to work again (row below, right).
It is obvious that Opa Tano and Oma Naatje have grandchildren, when you see the big slide (row below, left), big swing (row below, middle), and tricycle (row below, right) in their yard. Meanwhile, their dog Timo is keeping a close eye on Luna!
Opa Tano and Oma Naatje bought a carrier cycle especially for Luna and Lior. Of course, mom insists that Luna wear a bicycle helmet (row below, left). After Opa Tano has put it on Luna's head, Timo jumps into the carrier cycle as well (row below, middle), and the three bike to the playground in Spijk (row below, right).
It is high time for a new painting on the back window. Luna is more than happy to help with this. She carefully mixes her paint (far left) and paints a beautiful flower on the window (middle left).
When Aafke celebrates her birthday, Luna and Lior visit her in Utrecht. It is a lovely day, so they head for the park with Aafke, Ruben, and papa (right). When they drive back home to Nijmegen, Luna asks mama to turn down the radio. When Esther-Mirjam asks Luna why, our little lady replies that she wants to have a talk with her mom! Indeed, Luna's language skills seems to have made quite a jump. After this "talk," Luna falls asleep until the car pulls into the driveway in Nijmegen.
When the next day is just as lovely, Luna visits the Brakkefort playground, where she loves riding the motor cycle (row above, left) and lounging in the swing (row above, right). After having taken a break with Albert and Lior (row above, middle), she gets to work on the bicycle (left), moving herself as well as her little brother (right).
When mom makes dinner, Luna gets to watch a DVD, and Disney films are her favorite. Our sweet girl has to cry when Lumpy (middle right) and Dumbo (far right) are separated from their moms. Fortunately, they eventually become reunited again! Esther-Mirjam reassures her that she will never leave her darling daughter!
When the weather turns colder, Luna needs new house shoes, and Opa Ben and Oma Alie go looking for a pair with their granddaughter (far left). They find adorable Dora the Explorer slippers (middle left) and Luna proudly parades in them around the house.
Luna loves to go shopping with Opa Ben and Oma Alie, for this involves having lots of fun. She gets to ride in the special grocery cart (row below, left), hang out on the merry-go-round (row below, middle), and share a cup of coffee with Opa Ben (row below, right). That is, she only gets to taste a bit of the foam. Whenever she enters the grocery store, she runs over to the deli counter and asks for some sliced meat for herself and for her brother. And when Lior complains a little while mom runs to the other side of the store to get an item that she has forgotten, Luna comforts her little brother by telling him that mom will be right back!
When Opa Tano and Oma Naatje are unable to babysit on Friday, mom goes to gym for toddlers with Luna (far left). Is it because of her sprained ankle or because of Luna's speed that she has a hard time keeping up with her daughter (middle left)?
While mom considered enrolling Luna in a dance class, Opa Tano convinced her that Luna loves going to gym for toddlers. Or could it be that he himself enjoys it so much? Luna displays great agility (middle right) and strength (far right).
When Monique teaches her last swimming lesson at the pool, she organizes a pirate party (row below, middle). Pirate Luna finds out why pirates wear only one eye patch instead of two (row below, left). Once she gets the hang of it, she becomes a very convincing pirate (row below, right).
When Opa Tano and Oma Naatje come over to baby sit, they first play board games with Luna and Lior (row below, left). And when Lior goes down for his afternoon nap, Opa Tano goes out adventuring with Luna. They take the bus to the train station (row below, middle) and then the train to Lent (row below, right). Luna is so lucky to have both sets of grandparents doing fun things with her, and showering her with love, of course.
Luna loves hanging out at the daycare center, Heyendael (row below, middle). When the weather is really hot, Luna decides to wear the Santa hat while hanging out outside (row below, left and right). Mondays are her favorite, because there are lots of children with whom she can play. On Wednesdays she is sometimes a little bored, because most of the children are quite a bit older than she is. Indeed, Luna is slowly getting ready for going to kindergarten. Mom is not quite ready for her little girl to make this big step! Fortunately, there she has until the end of the year to get used to the idea.
When mom buys a tricycle for Lior, Luna figures that she can also enjoy riding it (middle right). Indeed, Opa Ben and Lior have a hard time keeping up with Luna on the trike (far right).
Luna loooves to cut paper with her scissors (far left). She is very focused on the very important task that she is performing (middle left).
Though Luna often has a very serious look on her face, she is not an unhappy girl (row below). To the contrary, she seems to really enjoy life, especially when she is surrounded by her loved ones. When she meets strangers or encounters new situations, it takes her a little while to warm up. Lots seems to be going through her pretty head on occasions like this.
Helping Opa Ben (row below, middle) to make dinner is sooo much fun (row below, left and right). It takes Opa Ben at least twice as long to peel the potatoes with Luna's help, but who cares?

Hip, Hip, Hurray!
Fortyfive Months Old!

Luna celebrates her fortyfifth month day at Chimpie Champ, an indoor playground (row below, left and right). Mom does not have many pictures of Luna's visit there, for our young lady is off having fun by herself most of the time. When mom goes over to make sure that everything is okay with her little lady, Luna pretends to not be able to find her way out of the play structure. Luna also shows Lior how to have fun at the playground. The two are enjoying each other's company more and more (row below, middle). Luna is usually very sweet to Lior and whenever she is not, Lior informs his mom lound and clear! Interestingly, Luna usually speaks to Lior in English. Indeed, her language skills are very impressive. She can express herself just as easily in English as in Dutch.
