Fortysecond Month of Luna Sent

Upon entering her fortysecond month on Planet Earth, our Moon Child receives a special visitor from the United States, Anita (row below, left). Esther-Mirjam has been friends with Anita for 16 years and is very grateful that Anita took the effort to visit her and her family in Nijmegen! Luna also gets to pay a visit, for Ruben and Sanne celebrate their birthdays (row below, right). Lenneke is also present and entertains Luna and Lior by having them make drawings (row below, middle).
As Luna's t-shirt testifies, she is the Big Sister, though Aafke is the yet bigger sister. The two help their little brother learning to walk in the back yard (right).
Lior is a very sweet brother to Luna, for he loves to share his ice-cream with her (middle left). Luna is not so sure what to think of it all (far left).
Indeed, Luna prefers to have her own ice-cream (right). She is lucky that Opa Ben and Oma Alie often treat her to one during the day they come over to baby sit.
When Opa Ben is "sick," Luna gets out her doctor's bag (row above, left). She takes his temperature (row above, middle) and decides that he needs a band-aid on his nose (row above, right). When the band-aid is securely in place (left), she helps Opa Ben get up again (right). Such fun it is to play with Opa Ben!
When Luna visits Arthur, Diana, and Olaf, she gets to play with Olaf's toys (row above, left and right). She also gets to try his wooden shoes (left) and have lunch with him (right). Arthur kindly offers to take a picture of the Sent clan and mom is still giving him instructions when he takes one already (row above, middle).
When mom has a meeting in Utrecht, Luna and Lior spend a night in Doesburg. Luna goes for a ride on Opa Ben's scooter (row below, left and right). They stop to pose in front of Esther-Mirjam's elementary school (row below, middle).
Being a little angel is sure exhausting (left and right). Our poor angel falls asleep while mom is making dinner. She no longer takes afternoon naps and usually manages without them easily. All in all, she really is a little angel. She is very sweet to her young brother and loves to help her mother.
When Aafke and Karin come over for the weekend, they go shopping with Luna and buy her beautiful sun glasses (row above). Our Moon Toddler thinks she looks very cool wearing her new shades (row above, left). Aafke and Karin also treat the Sent clan to a delicious dinner (left).
When our young lady has a bath at Opa Ben and Oma Alie's, her hair is wrapped in a towel afterwards, turning her into a gorgeous model (right). She wears beautiful pyjamas that she got from Angeline, a friend of mom's, from Indonesia.
Esther-Mirjam's colleague Ferdy perpares a delicious dinner for the Sent clan (far left). Luna enjoys the dinner and has fun playing with Ferdy (middle left).
Every Thursday morning, Luna goes swimming. When Oma Alie comes along (row above, middle), Opa Ben takes pictures. Luna loves the teacher, Monique (row above, left) and shows her she does not mind going under water (row above, right). Indeed, she is very much at ease in the water. Luna loves to play in the pool (left). Afterwards, she goes home in the bicycle trailer (right).
With their new digital camera, Opa Ben and Oma Alie can also take video clips, including one of Luna helping the teacher, Monique, demonstrate the tasks that accompany the "Zevensprong" song.

Lior is quickly following Luna's example when it comes to walking on the water mat.Yet, Luna seems too busy making sure she does not fall to watch her little brother follow in her footsteps.

Under the watchful eye of Ome Willem, Oma Naatje's oldest brother (row below, middle), and his youngest sister, Lior plays in the swing (row below, left and right). Indeed, Luna is turning into a second mom for Lior, making sure he gets enough to drink and to eat. And she loves to entertain her brother with her singing and dancing. He returns her efforts with lots of laughs.
Under the watchful eye of Oma Naatje (row below, middle), Luna is also turning into a cook (row below, left). She has a lot to learn until she is as good of a cook as Oma Naatje is! It does not help that her thoughts and eyes sometimes wander in a different direction (row below, right). Fortunately, she has plenty of time to learn.
When Luna spends a weekend with Opa Ben and Oma Alie, they take her to the "Land van Jan Klaassen" (row below, middle), where she gets to ride on the train (row below, left) and watch pierlala (row below, right).
Luna enjoys the Jan Klaassen puppet show so much that she goes three times, sitting by herself (middle right) and next to Opa Ben (far right). That is, these pictures do not seem to convey how much fun Luna has!
Inside, Luna climbs up a big inflatable slide (far left) and outside, she tries out a all the playground equipment (middle left).
And after all these activities, it is time for a drink (middle right) and something to eat (far right). All in all, a wonderful day was had by all, including Opa Ben and Oma Alie.
Luna has been waiting very patiently for a long time, and finally the strawberries are ripe (row below, middle). She enjoys them very much (row below, left), as witnessed by her big smile (row below, right).
Boy, it is a long way the petting zoo. Time for a little power nap (row below, left). Gheez, Opa Ben, I fell into a deep sleep and need a little time to get used to my new surroundings (row below, middle). Wow, those cute pigs are sure worth the trip to the petting zoo (row below, right).
Luna and her brother are big fans of the Dutch soccer team. They dress in orange for the team's matches in the European Championships. However, they are less interested in posing in these outfits for their mom (row above, left, and right).
Having Luna pose by herself works much better (row below, left and right). She looks so cute surrounded by all the Welpies. Cheering for the Dutch soccer team is so tiring that Luna falls asleep in Opa Tano's arms (row below, middle).

Hip, Hip, Hurray!
Three-and-a-half years old!

Luna gets to go to gym for toddlers for six more months. After this, there is a version for older children. However, this may also be a good opportunity to try something else with music and/or dance. However, she really likes her gym classes, as does Opa Tano, who takes her there every Friday afternoon. Luna very much enjoys singing the "dikke duim" song with Marie Jose (row below, left), playing games with the other children (row below, middle), and waiting for Opa Tano to help clean up afterwards (row below, right). Walking into the dressing room afterwards, she says to Opa Tano: "Ik heb zo lekker gegymd (I had such a fun gym class)!" Incidentally, these pictures were taken by the mother of Merel, who left a very kind message in Luna's guestbook.
