Fortieth Month of Luna Sent

Upon entering her fortieth month on Planet Earth, our Moon Toddler continues to make great progress on her little bike (left). Opa Tano very patiently spends some time every Friday teaching his granddaughter how to bicycle (right).
Almost every Saturday, the Sent clan can be found having fun at an aquarium, a zoo, or something like that. This time, they visit Burgers' Zoo in Arnhem (middle right). Amazingly, the big stroller fits into the back of the car. Unsurprisingly, Luna much prefers to walk.Fortunately, her mom allows her to do so during part of the visit (far right).
When Aafke spends a day with Luna, our little lady gets to dress up as a princess and hang out in her castle under the dinner table (left). As you can imagine, Luna loves for Aafke to come over, as does her mom.
Luna is learning all about taking care of the living things that surround her, including her rabbit Pleun (right). That is, Pleun is being fostered by Luna, for he is really Aafke's rabbit.
Luna goes to gym for toddlers every Friday, usually with Opa Tano (row above). Opa Tano offers his lap when the names of the children are called, helps Luna when she has to climb, and teaches her how to bounce on a ball. Opa Tano and Marie-José watch Luna closely when she rolls a ball up an obstacle (top left). Luna loves to tumble and roll (middle, bottom left). When she started going to gym for toddlers, Luna was afraid to sit on a swing, and now she hangs on a bar without thinking about it for a second (top right). Ineke is the other lady who organizes the activities every Friday (middle right). Esther-Mirjam has known her for almost four years, starting with the birthing classes for Luna and the baby massage classes for Luna and Lior. Before you know it, Lior will start going to gym for toddlers, eh?! Each session ends with the "Dikke duim" song, which gives Luna another opportunity to climb onto Opa Tano's lap (bottom right).
Esther-Mirjam is sooo proud of her young daughter, for little Luna is able to do jig-saw puzzles with 49 pieces for children aged five years and up all by herself (row above). Luna gets a big applause whenever she has completed a puzzle, but feels this praise is quite unnecessary (left and right).
When Easter is around the corner, Luna buys a bunch of white eggs and dyes them using a variety of techniques, all with a lovely result (row above). When the Easter Bunny hides them in the house (left), Luna manages to find all (right) but one. Unfortunately, the Easter Bunny had also forgotten where the remaining egg was. Fortunately, it was found in the end!
Luna loooves whipped cream (row below). And she is quite happy to show Lior how not to eat!

Luna participates in the jumpstyle rage in the Netherlands. She knows how to turn on the music by herself, starts jumping, takes a break for a bite to eat, continues dancing, and turns off the music when she is tired. Luna's daycare group, "de Regenboog", organizes a trip to a pancake restaurant. The kids get to play outside at first (row above, left) and eat pancakes afterwards (row above, middle). Luna is feeling a little sick and prefers to sit on her mom's lap (row above, right). Luna befriends the older brother of Boaz, Daniel, and has a good talk with him (left, top). She convinces him to take a look at the goats (left, bottom). After this, it is time for the see-saw (right, top). And her fun time with Daniel is completed with the latter reading stories to her inside the pancake restaurant (right, bottom).
Esther-Mirjam's birthing class has another reunion at Chimpie Champ (row below, left). The children are now old enough to sit still for a picture (row below, middle). Lior is not yet old enough to do so, but much prefers to crawl with his big sister (row below, right).
When Lior turns a year old, Luna is happy to put on her party hat (row below, left). She also sings "Happy Birthday" for her little brother (row below, middle). Yet, the best thing about Lior's birthday, according to Luna, is the fact that she also receives some presents (row below, right).
When Luna spends a weekend with Opa Tano and Oma Naatje, they take her to the circus (row above, left). Luna's friend Victoria also comes along (row above, middle) and admires the animals when they are outside (row above, right). Even though Luna usually tells her mom that she does not want anything in her hair, she happily allows Victoria to braid her hair (left, top). The latter also offers Luna a "Fabeltjeskrant" show (right, top). Opa Tano and Oma Naatje have put up a swing in the old part of their house, where Victoria watches closely to make sure all is well with Luna (left, bottom). As you can see, Luna very much enjoys the swing (right, bottom). Yet, she is happy to have gotten a chance to hang out with her friend Victoria again, as well as with Opa Tano, Oma Naatje, and their animals.
Luna is very good at playing by herself (row below, left and right). And she loves it when she gets to play with someone else (row below, middle). What is especially striking is how concentrated she can be while playing, be it by herself of with someone else.
Opa Ben and Luna play Little "Orange" Riding Hood and especially Opa Ben does a very convincing imitation (row below, left). The towel is the hat and the playdough container is the basket (row below, middle). After having had lots of fun playing together, Opa Ben and Luna relax on the couch (row below, right).
When the weather turns spring-like, Luna visits De Apenheul, a zoo with monkeys, in Apeldoorn (far left). She gets to admire the small ones from a very small distance (middle left).
Lenneke and papa also come along (middle right). They make sure that the monkey does not steal Luna's cookie (far right). However, Luna is not crazy about them taking her cookie away either!
Luna is very lucky that a baby gorilla was born the night before (far left). And she is also lucky that there is a merry-go-round on the way out of the park (middle left). All in all, she spends a special day with the monkeys.
When our pretty girl sees her mom's hat lying on the table, she considers it a very good excuse to take a break from eating and pose for her proud mom (row below).

Hip, Hip, Hurray!
Forty months old!

How convenient that the party hat for Lior's birthday is also still lying on the table, for Luna is more than happy to put it on to celebrate her fortieth month day. It is a tough call which hat becomes our pretty lady more.
