Thirtyeighth Month of Luna Sent

Yeah, our Moon Toddler is feeling much better as she enters her thirtyeighth month on Planet Earth (left). Of course, it helps that she is visiting Opa Tano and Oma Naatje here and that her grandparents made a silly hat for her.
Luna is very lucky to have two wonderful grandfathers. She loves to hang out with Opa Ben every Tuesday (middle right). And she has fun playing on Opa Tano's lap with her little brother Lior every Friday (far right).
Do these two look like trouble makers or what (left)? Lior loves to play with Luna's toys, while Luna loves to find out how hard she can squeeze her brother's hands before he starts complaining. Over all, though, the two love to be together. They get big smiles on their sweet faces when they see each other. And mom joins, of course, proud of her small family.
While Luna is very good at playing by herself, she does prefer to do so with others. As a result, she is always very happy when Aafke comes over to stay for a few days (middle right) and enjoys the special attention she gets from Opa Ben (far right).
Every Thursday, Luna goes swimming with her brother Lior, her mom, and Oma Alie (top row, left and right). Esther-Mirjam uses it as an excuse to spend some quality time cuddling with her daughter (top row, middle). In addition, there is also plenty of opportunity for fun play time (left). Luna spends half of the lesson in the care of her mom and the other half hanging out with Oma Alie (right). That is, she also enjoys walking through the swimming pool by herself, under the watchful eye of a grown-up, of course!
Our little princess is ready for Mardi Gras (row below).
Lior and Luna visit Frank (left) and Ellen (right) in Velp. Esther-Mirjam went to high school with Frank and has kept in touch with her friend ever since. Frank and Ellen are the proud parents of three adorable children who capture Luna's attention. Meanwhile, Lior explores the house by crawling on the floor.
Saturday and Sunday mornings get off to a wonderful start, with Lior and Luna getting to hang out on mama's bed (row above, left, and right). Mom is fortunate that both children like to sleep out, sometimes until 10 or 11 AM. And she is especially fortunate to have such darling children, of course!
Luna is always very happy when Aafke comes over to stay with her for one or two nights. During this visit, Aafke helps Luna with the drawing on the back windows (row below). Aafke also takes Luna and Lior to the petting zoo. And, overall, she is very warm and loving towards Luna.
When Luna visits the Youth Health Bureau (right), she weighs in at 14.6 kilos (roughly 32.2 US pounds) and measures 97.5 centimeters (roughly 38.4 inches), which is exactly average. She passes the vision test with flying colors. And all the other checks are fine as well. Luna leaves Esther-Mirjam with tears in her eyes at the realization how blessed mom is to have such a healthy and darling daughter. Indeed, with Luna having turned three years old, the terrible twos are a thing of the distant past. Every now and then Luna needs to be disciplined, but a short stay at the "chair for bad behavior" works wonders, and a careful explanation of the situation also works very well.
Looking at oneself in the mirror can be a quite time-consuming activity (left), especially when one is as beautiful as little Luna.
Luna gets to spend more time at the piano than her mom these days (right). Indeed, one of the regrets of Esther-Mirjam is that she seems unable to find time to play the piano.
Upon observing his big sister from a distance, Lior also wants to join (left). Opa Ben wisely sits between his grandchildren in order to avoid any piano fights!
If one had to describe Luna's character, then happy, energetic, and thoughtful seem three important catch phrases. Luna loves to run around Lior's play pen (right), preferably chased by or chasing her mom.
Ever since Luna discovered YouTube, Esther-Mirjam has to fight with her daughter for computer time (left). Luna loves to watch De Fabeltjeskrant, Sesame Street, and Barbapapa, amongst others.

Hip, Hip, Hurray!
Thirtyeight Months Old!

A little girl of thirtyeight months ought to be able to eat using a fork and a knife, which is why Luna is practicing hard (right). As a result, her table manners are improving rapidly.
