Twentyseventh Month of Luna Sent

As she enters her twentyseventh month on Planet Earth, our Moon Child wishes all her secret admirers (please leave a message in the guestbook!) Happy Valentine's Day (left). Luna is a little too young to celebrate carnaval (Mardi Gras), but wishes those who do lots of fun (right).
Thanks partly to watching Dumbo and Winnie the Pooh (only before going to bed, no worries about Luna being camped out in front of the television!), Luna knows lots of animals. She therefore very much enjoys her visit to the zoo with Oma Alie and Opa Ben. With Oma Alie, Luna watches the monkeys (below left) and enjoys some hot cocoa (below middle). With Opa Ben, Luna tries to spot the safari animals (below right).
Luna knows an amazing number of songs, including: Dikkertje Dap, Mijn opa, Twee emmertjes water halen, Alle eendjes zwemmen in het water, Grote klokken, Deze vuist, Er zat een aapje op een stokje, Papegaaitje leef je nog, Schaapje schaapje heb je witte wol, Zagen zagen, Schuitje varen, Lang zal ze leven, Slaap kindje slaap, In de maneschijn, Op een grote paddestoel, Poesje miauw, Ting ting, Berend Botje, Visje visje in het water, Hallo hallo hallo, We maken een kringetje, Kaatje ben je boven, Daar was laatst een meisje loos, Altijd is Kortjakje ziek, Zo gaat de molen, Daar zaten zeven kikkertjes, Kabouterdans, Nijntje knuffelkonijntje, Op een klein stationnetje, Hoedje van papier, De zevensprong, Het regent, Jan Huigen in de ton, Constant heeft een hobbelpaard, Vader Jacob, Klein klein kleutertje, De mosselman, and not to forget a wide variety of Sinterklaas and Christmas songs. What is amazing is that she does not understand most of the words yet, but remembers the sounds. Her favorite is Dikkertje Dap, as you can see in the clip you can access by clicking on the link below. It is actually a bit of an outtake, since she skips part of it, but she gets a big applause nonetheless and, of course, joins by clapping her hands.

Luna loves to hang out with the Brink gang. She watches Winnie the Pooh with Ruben (far left) and has dinner with Hans and his children (middle left). The dinner is to thank them in advance for their help with Luna's upcoming move to Nijmegen.
Luna visits Oma Alie and Opa Ben to congratulate the former on her birthday. She cheers for her grandmother during dinner (middle right) and loves to sit on Oma Alie's lap to read a book (far right). Luna is learning to distinguish the various colors and to count to ten. Such a smart lady!
As further proof of Luna's fun while singing songs, you can see (and listen to) her sing "In de Maneschijn" in the clip you can access by clicking on the link below. Here she repeats part of the song, but deserves a big applause nonetheless!

On the day Esther-Mirjam and Luna's things are moved by a very kind group of family and friends, Luna stays with Oma Alie and Opa Ben. She sings Lang zal ze leven, though it is nobody's birthday (above left) and Kabouter Spillebeen with his legs "hoepla" in the air (left). She also plays with Oma Alie (above middle) and makes funny faces (above right, right).
Luna adjusts amazingly well to her new home. She goes to sleep in her new bed without any complaints (far left). And she has lots to complain about, for her room is quite a mess (middle left). Incidentally, can you spot Luna in the latter picture? Her "morning hairdo" is hard to miss!
The morning after the move into her new home, Luna gets to hang out in mama's bed, which has not been made fully because the fitted sheet and pillow cases could not be found (middle right). Luna also admires the mess in her future brother's room (far right). Lots of work is ahead to prepare for his arrival.
When Esther-Mirjam celebrates her, ahum, fortieth birthday, Luna sings "Lang zal ze leven" at least five times. In return, mom prepares her little darling for the present that is ahead for her. Luna gets to listen to the baby in mama's belly (left). She gives him a kiss (top right) and a big hug (middle right), while she has lots of fun doing so (bottom right). Luna does not seem to grasp the upcoming events fully. Fortunately, she adapts to new circumstances very quickly, so the new baby should fit right in. He is lucky to have such a wonderful big sister!
Luna and Esther-Mirjam are very fortunate to have a very special set of (grand)parents. These come over to their new house on a regular basis to help them get settled. In return, the (grand)parents get to take a little "Luna break" every now and then (left and right), though not for too long!
Hip, Hip, Hurray!
Twenty-seven months old!
Mama tries to get Luna to sing "Lang zal ze leven" to celebrate her twentyseventh Month Day, but Luna is much more interested in grabbing mama's camera.

Finally, Luna does cooperate and sings a song to celebrate her own presence on Planet Earth. How lucky those around her are.

Luna answers "two" when you ask her how old she is. She can do the Dutch version too. And she can tell you that she lives in the "Van Peltlaan 19" in "Nijmegen." Good girl!
