As our Moon Child enters her twentysixth month on
Planet Earth, the celebrations go on. This time, it is Opa Tano's turn
to be in the spot light, because he turns 58. Luna sings "Lang
zal hij leven" and raises her arms with "Hiep, Hiep, Hoera,"
but too quick for her mama's photo camera to capture (below middle).
Luna especially enjoys cuddling with her cousin Sebastiaan, the son
of Tante Daphne (below left and right). She cheekily calls him "Bassie,"
despite the fact that his mom insists that his name is Sebastiaan, no
more and no less! |

As mentioned a few times before, Luna loves to sing
and dance. She makes up lyrics to songs that have none ("La,
la, la, Luna") or the lyrics of which she has forgotten ("Vader
Jacob"), and especially enjoys the attention she gets as a result.

You can start pretty much any (Dutch)
children's song, and Luna will finish it, perhaps skipping a few words
here or there. In the clip you can access by clicking on the link below,
Luna starts "Hoedje van papier" after a brief philosophical
moment. Or is she trying to finish her cookie first? Click here to watch the clip. |

For the second time in her young life, Luna visits an indoor playground. The last time she was only a few months old and slept through most of the visit. This time, she especially enjoys the slide (top left). The occasions for the visit are the recent birthdays of Luna and her girlfriend Iris. The latter has a wonderful present for Luna (middle left). After the presents are exchanged, the two toddlers exchange hugs by way of thanks (bottom left). Luna and Iris fight over one of the cars (top right), but quickly realize that there are plenty of cars for them not to have to share (middle right). And they learn that for something like a see-saw, there is a need to use it together (bottom right). All in all, the two have tremendous fun, and their moms have a nice opportunity to catch up with one another. |

On February 1, Luna and Esther-Mirjam obtain the key to their new home in the Van Peltlaan in Nijmegen. The painters and floor people are expected to take a month preparing the home for the arrival of mom & daughter, with the son hopefully staying in his mom's belly until sometime around the due date of April 12. Luna and Esther-Mirjam's move into their new home is planned on March 3, after which they will have their hands full getting their new house in order. More pictures of the interior will follow then. For now, most of the ones below are from the real estate agent. |

With "gym for toddlers," Luna adds a new
activity to her menu. She checks it out from a distance at first (below
left), but eventually joins in the fun (below middle and right). Being
one of the youngest participants, one has to cut our moon child some
slack. As long as she enjoys herself! |

When Esther-Mirjam has another
reunion with the women from her birthing class, Luna manages to yet
again punch pretty much every child in the cheek (below left). Perhaps
she is using it as a means to get her mom's attention. Meanwhile, her
own attention is focused on the new toys that surround her (below middle),
even when everybody else lines up for the picture (below right).

When mama has to give a lecture in Paradiso in Amsterdam,
Aafke takes care of Luna (right). The two of them have fun hanging out
together and watching the World Speedskating Championships, which are
won by a Dutch man and a Dutch woman. Pictured here is the World Record
10 K race of the male champion, Sven Kramer (left). |

Luna really enjoys spending time with Opa Ben. The
two make funny faces while looking at themselves in the mirror (below
left), manage to create a big pile of blocks (below middle), and have
fun reading a book (below right). |

Hip, Hip, Hurray! To celebrate her twentysixth Month Day, Luna accompanies herself on the piano while singing "Happy Month Day to You" (left). She looks over her shoulder while clapping her hands to make sure everybody joins her (right). |
